How can a print media company make money with the Internet?
(Case analysis: MX versus Wireless technology as a reader revision with different culture experiences.)
As we (students) came to
In Taiwan, we do have the broadcast media on every pubic transportation such as bus, train, and Mass Rapid Transit system (MRT) even on the elevator we could always see these media.
The free newspaper means the company's income come from the advertisement the same as the broadcast media. So, the question was: if the bus has wireless the passengers could read MX during the traffic time?
In personal opinion, it's hard to think the MX will disappear if the buses have the wireless. First, the contents, the major differences are between the MX and the broadcast system. MX offers information such as news, entertainments, sports, small games, weather forecast, and the TV schedules. Somehow, the broadcast media could only use the short time to attract audience's attention which means only advertisements and the latest MTV shows or short news. The different received of human's body; newspapers through the texts and images, the information from the broadcast media by images and sounds.
Therefore, MX could not be replaced by the broadcast media. We only can estimate they will exist both, just like even we can gather information through the Internet by browsing. But we still want the TV to give me the news and more entertainments such as films and dramas.
In addition, even the bus offers the wireless during the passing time. We still need to bring the laptop or the mobile phone. It will be more connivent; on the other hand, we could not ignore the harms of the near sight due to the unstable road and the shaking from the bus.
In final, the profits from the advertisements whether MX or broadcast media. As my mentions, the combination strategies would be the nowadays tendency. Especially for the print media companies, there will not chance to survive if they only work alone without the Strategic Alliance from different business sectors.
